Lake Wpg Water Walk Begins
A walk to raise awareness for Lake Winnipeg is launching tomorrow. The ‘Lake Winnipeg Water Walk’ kicks off in Norway House on Saturday morning, and will see a group walking well over 1,000 kms over the next 28 days. It’s being organized by Katherine Morrisseau-Sinclair, who says on the group’s website that she feels a strong connection to the water and wants to ensure that future generations have clean water. Group spokesperson Dene Sinclair tells CJ107 that they invite anyone to join, as the lake affects us all.
The walk is slated to arrive in Gimli around the end of July. For more information on the walk, head to lakewinnipegwaterwalk.ca. It wraps up in Manigotogan, on the east side of Lake Winnipeg.
